      Mou, moche et sans int\u00e9r\u00eat, on oubliera sans peine ce TMNT\u00a0: Wrath of the Mutants. Pour un bon jeu d\u2019arcade TMNT, plus frais et int\u00e9ressant, retournez sur Shredder\u2019s Revenge qui est carr\u00e9ment plus int\u00e9ressant et sympathique que ce portage tristement d\u00e9lav\u00e9 d\u2019un titre parfaitement n\u00e9gligeable.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Quelques ann\u00e9es se sont \u00e9coul\u00e9es depuis l\u2019apog\u00e9e de TMNT en mati\u00e8re d\u2019arcade, mais cela n\u2019a pas emp\u00each\u00e9 Tribute Games et l\u2019\u00e9diteur Dotemu de sortir le retour bien accueilli Shredder\u2019s Revenge en 2022. C\u2019est un point de comparaison in\u00e9vitable car, m\u00eame avec le nouveau contenu, Wrath of the Mutants ne peut s\u2019emp\u00eacher de se recroqueviller dans son ombre. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019un port d\u2019une version arcade d\u00e9pourvu de m\u00e9caniques pr\u00e9sents dans de r\u00e9cents beat\u2019em up et surtout avec l\u2019absence notable de coop\u00e9ration en ligne\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n

      Quelques instants avant les larmes et la d\u00e9ception…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

      Adapt\u00e9 d\u2019un jeu d\u2019arcade inspir\u00e9 de Turtles in Time de 1991, TMNT Arcade : Wrath of the Mutants lui emprunte ses m\u00e9caniques et son gameplay de base, mais n\u2019ajoute pas grand-chose, si ce n\u2019est trois nouveaux tableaux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Comme tout jeu d\u2019action \u00e0 d\u00e9filement lat\u00e9ral, les niveaux se jouent de gauche \u00e0 droite et sont remplis d\u2019ennemis sur lesquels il faudra cogner, mais l\u2019action est excessivement basique. Il n\u2019y a qu\u2019une attaque, un saut, une attaque tournoyante et un sp\u00e9cial nomm\u00e9 \u00abTurtle Power \u00bb dont la barre se remplit en ramassant les objets \u00e9ponymes, ou avec les d\u00e9g\u00e2ts inflig\u00e9s. Le rendu des coups est mou et on ne ressent \u00e0 aucun moment les impacts, c\u2019est d\u2019une tristesse\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Des armes de jet genre shuriken apparaissent parfois sur le sol, et il y a deux power-ups permettant de nettoyer les ennemis pr\u00e9sents \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran, en invoquant Metalhead ou Leatherhead. Voil\u00e0, on a fait le tour des actions possibles. Pas de juggle, de roulade d\u2019esquive ou de combos de folie, on est dans un arch\u00e9type de beat\u2019em up des ann\u00e9es 90 qui sent le r\u00e9chauff\u00e9. Les commandes sont -heureusement- r\u00e9actives, mais l\u2019action reste molle et sans imagination.<\/p>\n\n\n

      Techniquement, le titre est aux fraises, malgr\u00e9 un framerate sans faille. Alors oui, c\u2019est fid\u00e8le \u00e0 son mat\u00e9riau d\u2019origine en termes d\u2019adaptation, mais c\u2019est juste vilain. Les mod\u00e8les 3D sont \u00e0 peine potables, et jurent avec les d\u00e9cors car ils sont d\u00e9pourvus d\u2019effets d\u2019ombres et\/ou de lumi\u00e8re. Les couleurs sont assez vilaines pour ne rien arranger, et les niveaux ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 vus et revus dans la saga, bref, on a d\u00e9j\u00e0 jou\u00e9 \u00e0 bien mieux et ce ne sont pas les quelques gimmicks repiqu\u00e9s mais rigolos comme balancer un ennemi vers l\u2019\u00e9cran qui vont remonter le niveau. On oubliera aussi les performances vocales en jeu qui sont parfois insupportables, notamment la voix de Donatello qui couine \u00e0 la moindre action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      La difficult\u00e9 est presque inexistante, non pas que le jeu soit trop facile, mais on s\u2019en sort sans trop de d\u00e9g\u00e2ts si ce n\u2019est contre les boss. Le mode difficile n\u2019apporte pas grand-chose, et il n\u2019y a rien \u00e0 d\u00e9bloquer apr\u00e8s avoir boucl\u00e9 le jeu : pas d\u2019artworks, de personnages ou de petit extra qui donne envie de relancer une partie. Ah si, un top score ! S\u00e9rieusement, m\u00eame dans les ann\u00e9es 90 on s\u2019en foutait, faut arr\u00eater \u00e7a\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Le (seul\u00a0?) point fort reste le coop \u00e0 4, toujours fun, mais exclusivement en local. Une tare aujourd\u2019hui incompr\u00e9hensible, qui plombe davantage l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat du jeu. On pouvait attendre bien plus de ce portage d\u2019un jeu qui a presque une dizaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es aujourd\u2019hui, que ce soit sur le plan technique comme sur les apports qui auraient pu \u00eatre faits pour am\u00e9liorer l\u2019exp\u00e9rience de jeu et la rendre plus moderne, quitte \u00e0 mettre \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 le jeu d\u2019origine (d\u00e9blocable par exemple\u00a0?)<\/p>\n\n\n
